At Least 13 People, Including Children, were Killed in the Kabul Airport Blast, as Per the Taliban

The Taliban staged an unusual press conference in Kabul on August 17, 48 hours after the near-bullet-free capture. As the world watched, Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said that the Taliban regime is not to be feared. When it came to women and the media, Zabihullah declared, “If women live according to Sharia law, they will be happy, and we will be pleased.” According to the Taliban, journalists should not show anything harmful to the country’s interests.

After a week since the media briefing, it appears that the ‘normalcy’ facade is crumbling. A reporter was allegedly pummeling in a popular Kabul junction today, in a disturbing reminder of the country’s terrible past. The Tolo News reporter resorted to Twitter to recount his terrifying encounter with Taliban fighters.
