According to government data, at least 242 youngsters tested positive for Covid-19 in Bengaluru in the last five days, as Karnataka recorded 1,338 new cases and 31 deaths on Tuesday, reinforcing the earlier warning that the third wave will harm children.

In the last five days, 242 minors under the age of 19 tested positive, according to the Bengaluru civic body, Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP). The third wave of Covid-19, according to experts, has already begun.

In the previous five days in the city, 106 children under the age of nine and 136 youngsters between the ages of nine and nineteen have tested positive, according to the data. The health service has cautioned that the number of children who have tested positive for HIV may climb in the coming days.
