PM Modi speaks at the CII Annual Session 2021 about Undoing Past Mistakes and retrospective Taxation

On Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi used video conferencing to address the Confederation of Indian Industry’s (CII) annual session 2021. On the 11th and 12th of August, the CII Annual Meeting 2021 will take place across two days.

‘India@75: Government and Business Working Together for Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ is the upcoming CII Annual Meeting theme. PM Modi’s speech to a group of business leaders and economists comes only days after the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) maintained its 9.5 percent GDP growth prediction for FY22.

The Modi government plans to privatize national carrier Air India and state-owned refiner Bharat Petroleum Corp Ltd this year, according to Tuhin Kant Pandey, secretary, department of investment and public asset management (DIPAM), who spoke at the CII Annual Session.
