On Tuesday, at 9 a.m., the votes for the Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation (GMC) elections, which were held on Sunday, were counted. The BJP has won 23 seats out of a total of 44, while the Congress and the AAP have each won one. According to the Gujarat State Election Commission (SEC), voting was mainly peaceful, with no adverse incidents.
According to SEC estimates, roughly 56.24 percent of voters participated in the polling. In GMC, a total of 162 candidates are vying for 44 seats spread over 11 wards. With the emergence of the Aam Aadmi Party, the elections have become a three-pronged struggle this time (AAP).
