After an FIR was filed against them for inciting communal tensions, the Tripura police apprehended two Delhi-based journalists. Sammriddhi K Sakunia and Swarna Jha, two journalists, were handed notices to record their statements. They’d arrived in the state on Thursday to investigate reports of communal unrest.

Upon arriving, they went to Kakraban in Udaipur’s Gomati district, followed by minority-dominated areas in West Tripura and Sepahijala districts. On Saturday, they went to Fatikroy in the Unokoti district, where a Hindu mob allegedly vandalized an under-construction mosque in the Pal Bazar area, according to sources.
