Today, Punjab’s new Chief Minister, Bhagwant Mann of the Aam Aadmi Party, announced the commencement of an anti-corruption hotline. The hotline number will be introduced on March 23, the death anniversary of independence warrior Bhagat Singh, according to Mr. Mann, who took his oath yesterday, saying that he would not “waste a day.”
“My personal phone number will be used for the anti-corruption hotline… Send audio and video to that number if someone asks for a bribe,” he stated. The phone number will only be used by persons who want to submit films of corrupt authorities seeking bribes for their daily job or engaging in other illegal activities. He then stated that such officials will face severe punishment.
