On Saturday morning, a forest fire burst out in Jammu and Kashmir’s Udhampur district. According to the Range Officer, the fire was previously extinguished, but malcontents re-ignited it in the forest.
“In the morning, we received information of a forest fire in the surrounding region. It was put out by 10:30 a.m., but not before some residents set fire to it again. The accused’s name has been forwarded to the Sub-Divisional Magistrate,” Dudu Range Officer Ayush Gupta stated.
Local residents who are assisting officials in extinguishing the fire have stated that “Our community is being threatened by flames. We attempted to contain it, but the wind is causing it to spread.” Villagers are concerned about the safety of their families and their homes.
