According to Malaysia’s health ministry, the lambda form of the coronavirus is more lethal than the Delta variant, which was initially found in India. In the last four weeks, instances of the lambda variation have been identified in more than 30 nations, according to the report.
It referenced a statement from the Australian news portal news.com.au, which stated that the lambda strain had also been discovered in the United Kingdom. According to The Star, the researchers are concerned that this version may be “more contagious than the Delta form.”
Lambda virus accounted for approximately 82 percent of coronavirus case samples recorded in Peru during May and June, according to Euro News, citing the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO).
