Officials said both factions of the secessionist conglomerate Hurriyat Conference, which has led the separatist campaign in Jammu and Kashmir for over two decades, may face a ban under the strict Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.

According to them, a recent investigation into the allocation of MBBS seats to Kashmiri students by Pakistani universities suggests that money collected from aspirants by some organizations affiliated with the Hurriyat Conference was utilized to fund terror organizations in the union territory.
