The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited has informed that electricity supply will be affected in several areas of south and north Kashmir due to scheduled maintenance and repair work on 33 kV lines in the coming days. The shutdowns are part of routine upkeep to ensure reliable power infrastructure.

According to KPDCL, maintenance work on a 33 kV line will lead to a power outage on January 4, 2026, from 9 am to 3 pm in parts of Pulwama district.

Areas likely to be affected include Tral, Dever, Pinglish, Dadasra, Chandrigam, Mandura, Khalil, Bajwani, Noor Pora, and nearby localities in south Kashmir.

In another instance, a shutdown of the 33 kV Tral Pehlu line tap line from Nowdal will be carried out on January 7 and January 11, 2026, between 9 am and 3 pm. During this period, electricity supply will remain disrupted in Tral I, Payeen, Dever, Pinglish, Chewa, Khalil, Tral Bala, Bajwani, and adjoining areas.

Similarly, the 33 kV Balhama Old TCI tap line from Khunmoh SIDCO I will be shut down on January 4, 2026, from 9 am to 3 pm. This will affect power supply in Wuyan, Balhama, Munpora, and surrounding localities.

KPDCL has also announced a shutdown of the 33 kV Pampore SIDCO line along with the 33 kV Pampore Pampore line on January 7, 2026, from 9 am to 3 pm. As a result, electricity supply will be affected in IE Khrew and the cement plant area, Wuyan, Pampore I and II, IE Wuyan, Nambalbal, Drangbal, Khadermoh, and nearby areas.

In north Kashmir, the 33 kV Handwara Old line will remain shut on January 4 from 10 am to 3 pm, leading to power disruption in Changimulla, Zachaldara, Wadipora, Adora, Hanga, Haril, Lach, Batagund, and adjoining localities.

Additionally, a shutdown of the 33 kV Pattan Amargarh line covering Pattan, Pahaln, and Hamray will be observed on January 6, 2026, from 10 am to 3 pm. During this period, electricity supply will be affected in Zangam, Nehalpora, Pattan, Hamray, Palhalan, hospital areas, Wanigam, and surrounding regions.

KPDCL has advised consumers in the affected areas to make necessary arrangements in advance and has expressed regret for the inconvenience caused due to these essential maintenance works.
