In a digital twist that sent shockwaves across social media, Instagram accounts of top Pakistani celebrities—including actors and cricketers—remain blocked in India, despite briefly becoming accessible on Wednesday.
For a few hours, Indian users reported being able to view the profiles of Pakistani stars like Mawra Hocane, Saba Qamar, Ahad Raza Mir, Yumna Zaidi, and Danish Taimoor, triggering an online uproar and sparking debates over censorship, cross-border media, and digital diplomacy.
But by Thursday morning, the curtain fell once again. Searches for these celebrities now return the message: “Account not available in India. This is because we complied with a legal request to restrict this content.”

Interestingly, YouTube channels belonging to former cricketers Shahid Afridi and Shoaib Akhtar, along with platforms like Green TV Entertainment, continue to be accessible. However, iconic stars such as Fawad Khan, Mahira Khan, and Hania Aamir remain digitally invisible to Indian audiences.
The sudden visibility glitch followed by swift re-blocking has added fuel to the already heated debate about content censorship and the politicization of pop culture in the subcontinent. (Source: ANI)
