A new form of the SARS-CoV-2 virus that might be even worse than Delta could develop, according to WHO’s chief scientist, Dr. Soumya Swaminathan, on Friday. According to several scientific estimates, the third wave of the epidemic has already started in India. Dr. Swaminathan disputed worries that the third wave would disproportionately affect youngsters and said it was still too early to let down the defenses.
Adults and children had resistance in 65 percent of cases, as per the ICMR’s serosurvey, and according to Dr. Swaminathan. However, these results show that kids have been minimally impacted by Covid.
