Thomas Bach, chief of the International Olympics Committee on Saturday cleared that Olympics is on schedule in Tokyo. The Japanese population is continuously protesting to cancel the Olympics due to the increasing corona cases. The IOC president said that the Olympics was already postponed in the year 2020. Hosting the Olympics at this time will prove that there is still light in the darkness.

He said,”With Tokyo Olympics finally on the horizon, the final countdown has begun. During this difficult times, we need to send a strong message of resilience, unity and our diversity”.

Despite of the fact that most Japanese are protesting against the Olympics, the IOC remained unwaivered. People are protesting for the cancellation due to the surge in Corona cases.

Regarding this, Bach said,”The safety and security of everyone is utmost priority. But together with our Japanese colleagues we will have to ensure that our athletes can come together and compete in a safe environment. Over 70 per cent athletes and officials have already been vaccinated and this number will grow with time. We have also received offers from three vaccine producers for vaccination”.
