The governing party, according to statistics, BJP has been led to a significant win for the 403 seats in Uttar Pradesh, has won 48 seats so far and is now leading in 202 constituencies. For the first time in 30 years, a political party has been re-elected in the strategically important state. The Akhilesh Yadav-led SP has won seven seats so far, and it presently holds a 111-seat majority. The Bharatiya Janata Party experiences a strong election in Uttar Pradesh since the government sends the most MPs to the Lok Sabha (80), and the party’s success will have an impact on the general election in 2024.

Yogi and other BJP leaders addressing the public at Lucknow headquarters

“The mob that committed a serious crime and displayed “tamancha” (countrymade gun) in open jeeps under the Samajwadi Party (SP) era”, said Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday, “was now creeping like a worm or traveling on a wheelchair in Uttar Pradesh.”

Celebrations at Lucknow headquarters

He was speaking at a public gathering in Chandauli’s Saiyadraja assembly seat. “Bulldozers and development would go hand in hand if the state has a ‘dumdaar’ (strong) government.” The previous administration shielded the mafia that murdered the ‘Yadavs’ in Mau, set fire to traders’ homes, and pushed Mau into rioting. According to a news release, Yogi remarked, “Our administration has taught them the correct lesson and placed all the mafias in jail.”
