With the processing of ballots for the Goa Assembly elections began on Thursday, 10 March, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is over midway through the 40-seat Assembly, with leads in 11 seats. Michael Lobo of the Congress won the Calangute constituency, while Rohan Khaunte of the BJP won the Porvorim seat.
In St. Cruz, AAP nominee Amit Palekar is lagging. In Margao, Congress leader Digambar Kamat is in the lead. Utpal Parrikar, an opposition independent candidate, is lagging in Panaji.
