Yogi Adityanath, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, met with Governor Anandiben Patel at the Raj Bhavan here on Friday and submitted his resignation, clearing the way for the establishment of a new administration. As per the official notification released by Raj Bhavan, the governor acknowledged Adityanath’s resignation and asked him to remain as caretaker chief minister with his government till future preparations are finalized.
Adityanath addressed the penultimate session of his exiting cabinet before heading to the Raj Bhavan, and congratulated the citizens of Uttar Pradesh for voting for the BJP in the assembly election, according to an official spokesperson.
