Numerous cities have been besieged as Russia’s attack on Ukraine enters its 17th day. At the United Nations, India expressed the hope that negotiation and discussion between Russia and Ukraine would put the conflict to a conclusion.
India’s permanent ambassador to the United Nations, TS Tirumurti, said: “We genuinely hope that the continuing direct talks between Russia and Ukraine result in a cease-fire. There is no other option than to pursue diplomacy and communication. The severe humanitarian situation necessitates quick action.”
Nevertheless, Thursday’s negotiations between Ukraine’s and Russia’s delegations are remained deadlocked. President Joe Biden of the United States stated that his nation will not fight in Ukraine and that a clash between NATO and Russia would culminate in World War III.
