Through a video conference, Prime Minister Narendra Modi distributed a unique commemorative coin worth Rs 125 to honor the 125th birth anniversary of Srila Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, the founder of the Hare Krishna movement.
G Kishan Reddy, the Union Minister for Culture, was also present. The International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON), also known as the Hare Krishna movement, was founded by Swami Prabhupada.
ISKCON has translated the Shrimad Bhagavad Geeta and other Vedic literature into 89 languages, making a significant contribution to Vedic literature’s global spread. According to the press release, Prabhupada created over a hundred temples and wrote several books, teaching the world about Bhakti Yoga.
