After the Taliban seized power in the war-torn country, the Centre called for an all-party conference on Thursday to examine the situation in Afghanistan. S Jaishankar, the Minister of External Affairs, informed the leaders of the recent developments in Afghanistan, where the Taliban took power last week. According to the administration, removing Indian forces from Afghanistan is a high priority.
The administration has called the situation in the war-torn country “serious,” claiming that the Taliban had violated the Doha Agreement’s obligations.
The Doha accord, signed in February 2020 by Taliban leaders and US officials, had provisions for religious freedom and democracy, as well as a Kabul government that represented all segments of Afghan society.
