As the national capital continues to suffer from severe pollution levels following Diwali, a layer of smog over Delhi-NCR worsened on Friday, November 12th, decreasing visibility to 200 meters at numerous locations in the region. On Friday, over 4,000 farm fires accounted for 35% of Delhi’s pollution, contributing significantly to the deteriorating AQI.
Meanwhile, due to significant air pollution in Delhi, the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) has recommended citizens avoid stepping outside. It also mandated that the state government and commercial businesses minimize vehicle usage by at least 30% by working from home, carpooling, and optimizing field operations.
