‘India-Pak ceasefire only successful because of our strength,’ says Rajnath Singh

Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh stated on Sunday that the ceasefire between the two countries is successful today “only because of our strength,” referring to Pakistan as India’s “neighbor” without mentioning the country. “Cross-border strikes in 2016 shifted our reacting approach to a proactive one, which was reinforced by the Balakot airstrike in 2019,” Singh said.

India would not hesitate to execute “counter-terrorism operations” against its rivals, according to the Defence Minister. The Defence Minister stressed that despite the problems on India’s border, the country’s national security “would not be jeopardized.” He was speaking at the Defence Services Staff College (DSSC) in Wellington, Tamil Nadu.
