The deadly corona virus in the country has broken all records till date. For the first time since the epidemic started, more than one lakh new cases of infection have been reported in a single day. This number is one lakh three thousand 558. The last time in a day, the maximum number of cases were reported on 16 September 2020. Then the number of cases was 97 thousand 894. Then 1132 people died. While 478 deaths have been recorded in the last 24 hours.
One lakh 65 thousand 101 people have died so far
According to the latest data released by the Health Ministry, the total number of cases of infection in the country has now increased to one crore 25 lakh 89 thousand 67. While one lakh 65 thousand 101 people have died so far. Day by day active cases are increasing in the country, whose number has now increased to 7 lakh 41 thousand 830. Yesterday, 52 thousand 847 people have also recovered from Corona. After which the number of people recovering in the country has gone to one crore 16 lakh 82 thousand 136.
According to the ministry, seven crore 91 lakh 5 thousand 163 doses of corona vaccine have been given in the country so far. Of the total vaccines, 60.19 percent vaccines are in eight states. Maharashtra alone has 9.68 percent vaccines. Out of the total vaccines in the country, 43 percent are vaccinated in five states Maharashtra, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and West Bengal.
Maharashtra is most affected by the epidemic in the country
Weekend lockdowns have been announced from eight o’clock in Maharashtra, which is badly affected by the epidemic in the country. The state government has also announced the closure of private offices excluding banking and insurance sectors. Employees were allowed to work from home, besides many other restrictions have been imposed.
Maharashtra alone accounts for 57 per cent of the total cases of Kovid-19 in the country and the daily new cases figure has reached 47,913 in the state. This figure is more than double in Maharashtra when the corona virus epidemic was at its peak earlier.
PM Modi suggested a five-level strategy
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Sunday that states will have to take tough and comprehensive steps to deal with this phase of transition of Kovid-19. To prevent the spread of infection, he suggested to implement a five-pronged strategy – testing, tracing, treatment, covid behavior and vaccination with sincerity and commitment. Concerns were raised about the situation in Maharashtra, Punjab and Chhattisgarh in the meeting and in view of this, the Prime Minister directed to send a central team of public health experts and doctors to these states.
10 states account for more than 91% of infected cases
10 states account for more than 91 percent of the total infected cases in the country and Corona has also recorded the highest number of deaths in these states. According to the PMO’s statement, in the last 14 days, Punjab accounted for 4.5 percent of the total number of cases in the country, while it accounted for 16.3 percent of the total number of deaths.
