Congress has written a letter addressed to Twitter headquarters. The letter accused BJP BJP senior leaders including Party Chief JP Nadda, Union Minister Smriti Irani, Spokesperson Sambit Patra and General Secretary BL Santosh of spreading misinformation that could cause social unrest during the pandemic. The letter claims that the false information is being spread only to cover their own failure.
The letter also mentioned that earlier a police complaint was filed by The Indian National Congress before the Commissioner of Police of New Delhi. In the letter, they have also accused BJP of running a hate campaign deliberately.
They have also requested twitter to carry out a detailed probe on the subject matter and suspend those accounts. They have mentioned that these people are habitual of manufacturing forged content. They have highlighted Twitter’s policy and rules seeking to discourage deceptive, synthetic and manipulated media that is likely to cause harm.
