On Friday, Congress members in Gujarat organized a protest from the state legislature after Speaker of the House Nimaben Acharya suspended Punja Vansh, a prominent party leader and Una MLA, for seven days for using unparliamentary language in the House.
Congress member Harshad Ribadiya asked a simple question on the number of available vacancies at the Surendranagar animal clinics during the query period on the third day of the 14th Gujarat assembly’s cabinet meeting. When BJP agricultural minister Raghavji Patel answered the question, Vansh replied by arguing that the facts he was sharing were incorrect.
Harsh Sanghvi, the minister of state for home, rose and attempted to interfere. Naushad Solanki, a Congress MLA from Dasada, accosted him verbally. Sanghvi responded to Solanki by declaring that Congress’s intimidation methods will fail. Addressing Sanghvi, Vansh stated that this was not his party office and that being said used an unparliamentary term, which enraged the ruling party’s supporters.
