On Saturday morning, three additional Air Force C-17 planes arrived in the nation, carrying Indians stranded in Ukraine back to India through Romania, Slovakia, and Poland. These planes set out on Friday evening carrying 16.5 tonnes of humanitarian supplies from India for war-torn Ukraine, where millions of people have been evacuated over the last week.
Under the government’s ‘Operation Ganga,’ the Air Force has flown 10 planes to return 2,056 citizens to protection. A total of 26 tonnes of humanitarian aid has been supplied to Ukraine and its nearby countries, which are also impacted by the war. Special aircraft are being arranged to support the ‘Operation Ganga’ effort to allow the free repatriation of trapped Indians from the conflict-torn country.
