During Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud’s first visit to India, Union External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar met with his Saudi Arabian counterpart Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud in New Delhi on Sunday. Al Saud landed in India earlier today for a three-day visit, during which he would meet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The two leaders discussed the changing situation in Afghanistan following the Taliban’s takeover, the Gulf and Indo-Pacific region, and cooperation in the battle against the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) pandemic. S Jaishankar also requested Al Saud to reintroduce direct flights between India and Saudi Arabia, which have been halted because of the plague.
