The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) has detained two containers holding around 2,988.22kg of heroin at Mundra port in Gujarat, in what is considered to be one of the world’s greatest ever captures. Two people have been arrested, and the involvement of several Afghan nationals is being investigated as well.

The breakthrough came when the agency received a specific tip about a shipment declared as semi-processed Talc stones originating from Afghanistan and delivered from Bandar Abbas Port in Iran to Mundra Port by Aashi Trading Company, based in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh.
