Central universities are facing a huge dilemma due to the cancellation of the CBSE Class XII examinations. The  University authorities are awaiting notice from the government regarding the admission procedure of the Undergraduate courses.

It is yet to decide whether the admission be based on entrance examinations or the merit lists. On the other hand, common entrance test is also a part of the new National Education Policy. Yet the education ministry needs to take a final decision.

The admission process might also be delayed due to the ongoing pandemic. For the last few years, the central government and UGC are making decisions on behalf of the universities, hence no action can be taken for now.
