On Saturday, August 28, Karnataka Director General of Police (DGP) Praveen Sood announced that five persons had been arrested in connection with the Mysuru gang rape case, with one suspect still at large.
He claimed that those arrested are Tamil Nadu laborers. According to NDTV, who cited DGP Praveen Sood, one of the arrested is supposedly a minor, and the police are verifying the age. On August 24, a 23-year-old MBA student from Maharashtra was allegedly kidnapped by four men and her friend was assaulted near Mysuru’s Chamundi Hills. The student was returning from Chamundi Hills, a renowned tourist location while riding pillion with a companion.
