270 Doctors lost to the second wave of Covid in India:IMA

While last year 784 doctors succumbede to the disease in the first wave, this year we have already lost 270 doctors in such a short period.

The Indian Medical Association on Tuesday, 18th May announced the list of doctors lost to Covid across the country. While last tear the count was 748, this year in a short span of time we have lost 270 doctors. IMA President Dr. JA Jaylal said ,”The second wave is turning out to be extremely fatal for all and especially for the Healthcare workers who are at the forefront.”

Ex-chief of IMA, Padma shri Dr. KK Aggarwal who was admitted to IIMS and was on ventilator support since last week also passed away due to Covid. Dr. Aggarwal was seen posting various videos from the hospital while battling Covid and in one such video he was seen saying “Picture abhi baaki hai…the show must go on.” Later his team started posting on his behalf.

The list showed maximum number of deaths of medical practitioners in Bihar, it was 78. Followed by 37 deaths in Uttar Pradesh and 22 in Andhra Pradesh.
