The One-Family-One-Ticket rule may return as a matter of discussion at the Congress’s weekend brainstorming session in Rajasthan’s Udaipur – with one major caveat – as the party gathers to hammer out measures to resurrect its electoral fortunes, according to sources.
The contentious rule was reviewed at a Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting in Delhi on Monday, led by Congress chief Sonia Gandhi, ahead of the three-day ‘Chintan Shivir,’ which begins on Friday.
It may not apply to the Gandhis if cleared at the big gathering and by another CWC meeting on Sunday, they claimed, possibly sabotaging chances of fighting off BJP charges accusing the Congress of prioritizing family.
