The State Department’s upgrading of travel recommendations for India and Pakistan on Monday is in response to the country’s COVID-19 outbreak scenario.
According to the State Department, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has released a Level 3 Travel Health Notice for India owing to COVID-19, suggesting a high level of COVID-19 in the nation.
The most recent travel warning supersedes the one issued on May 5, which positioned India in the Level 4 classification.
