The US has revised its travel advice for India, dropping it from Level 4, which implies no travel, to Level 3, which advises people to rethink travel.

The State Department’s upgrading of travel recommendations for India and Pakistan on Monday is in response to the country’s COVID-19 outbreak scenario.

According to the State Department, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has released a Level 3 Travel Health Notice for India owing to COVID-19, suggesting a high level of COVID-19 in the nation.

The most recent travel warning supersedes the one issued on May 5, which positioned India in the Level 4 classification.
