There are thousands of migrant labors from Uttar Pradesh who are stranded in various cities across the nation due to the sudden lockdown, which halted road and rail traffic. Many walked to their native villages by foot, later to be stopped at the state borders and kept at relief camps.

The Uttar Pradesh government is working on an action plan to bring back labourers stranded in other states due to the nationwide lockdown suddenly imposed due tothe coronavirus outbreak, the state government informed on Friday. CM Yogi took the decision at a review meeting chaired by him comprising other senior officials of the Uttar Pradesh government.

CM Adityanath instructed the officials to make a list of people stuck in other states and initiate necessary arrangements to bring them back. Labourers who have completed the mandatory 14-day quarantine period will be brought back in a phased manner.
