On its arrival in Japan, a representative of Uganda’s Olympic squad was the first to have a positive tester for Covid-19 on 23 July. The year before, the ceremony was delayed but is still going on amid a current breed of cases in Japan with the Covid-19.
In Uganda, too, instances rise, forcing the authorities to increase down lock-downs on Friday. The Ugandan belonged to a nine-member group that was immunized completely, the report says. Before departing Uganda, the group – which included boxers, trainers, and officers – also tested negatively. And that one of them tested positively on Saturday’s arrival at Tokyo’s Narita airport and was confined in a government-designated unit.
