As a consequence of the coronavirus epidemic, Tibet is expanding as more Chinese people visit the area, causing serious harm to the delicate ecology and historic monuments of Tibet. At Potala Palace, the previous Dalai Lamas house, the number of tourists is restricted to 5,000 a day. Gonggar Tashi, the chief admin, stated that it is a continual struggle to balanced visitor traffic with the need to minimize wear and tear on the enormous hillside building.
However, the increasing number of tourists appears not to be affected by Tibet’s political issues.
