The BJP accused the CPI(M) and the Congress of aiding jihadis in the wake of Pala Bishop Joseph Kallarangatt’s controversial remarks on “love and narcotic jihad,” while the latter warned against a “Sangh Parivar strategy” to disrupt Christian-Muslim harmony in Kerala.
In the face of rising criticism, the Pala Diocese, which is affiliated with the influential Syro-Malabar Church, issued a statement claiming that the bishop had no intention of harming anyone and that his words were not directed at any particular population.
