As per the PTI sources, the government panel National Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation (NTAGI) on Thursday suggested that the time gap of the Covishield vaccine should be increased to 12-16 weeks.
Presently, the gap between two doses are four to eight weeks. No suggestion has been made regarding the covaxin doses intervals.
The panel also suggested that the pregnant women should be offered the choice of selecting the vaccine of their choice and the nurturing women could be vaccinated anytime after delivery.
The recommendation of the panel will be sent to the National Expert Group on Vaccine Administration for Covid-19.
