Earlier, the Government of Telangana had imposed a lockdown starting from 12th May to 22nd May. The Chief Minister of Telangana, K. Chandrashekhar Rao on Tuesday, 18th May decided to extend the lockdown till 30th May after a phone call with the cabinet ministers.
During April end and early May Telangana was under a Night Curfew. When asked about a lockdown it was told that it is unnecessary. Then within a day or two lockdown was announced. The lockdown comes in with a total relaxation for 4 hours a day from 6AM to 10AM. At those hours, every one has the permission for intra-state movement and at the remaining times a pass is required unless it is an emergency service.
A cabinet meeting was also scheduled for 20th May which now stands cancelled since the ministers are busy dealing the corona situation in the state.
The Chief Secretary has been instructed to release the G.O extending the lockdown till 30th May.
