Tamil Nadu’s Chief Minister M.K. Stalin has announced that all the frontline health workers will receive incentives for their work. He said that the government will offer Rs. 30,000 to the doctors, Rs. 20,000 to the nurses and Rs. 15,000 to the other health workers, working in the Covid wards from April to June 2021. He further added that Rs. 20,000 will be given to all the PG students and trainees to motivate them.

Additionally, the CM also announced that a compensation of Rs. 25 lakhs will be given to the families of the 43 doctors who lost their lives for the cause.

The Indian Medical Association issued an official statement in August 2020 which stated the death of 43 covid warriors.

The government is also working to increase the oxygen supply in the state. In Chennai, the Greater Chennai Corporation will set up 100-bed centres and the patients whose oxygen level goes below 90-92 percent will be admitted here.
