Following the formation of a high-level committee to investigate the effects of the National Eligibility Cumulative Entrance Test (NEET) for admission to medicine on Tamil Nadu students, the government has requested public input on the matter. The state administration has sought public comment on or before June 23 in a newspaper advertising.
According to the state government, the NEET committee, chaired by former Madras High Court judge Justice AK Rajan, would investigate the impact of the NEET test on applicants from the socioeconomically deprived sectors in medical admissions and provide a report in a month. According to an official announcement, the government will determine its next line of action based on the committee’s suggestions.
