The domestic market indices opened in the positive region today following the global markets that traded mostly in the green, only to give up gains and trade flat later. S&P BSE Sensex was 42 points or 0.13% higher at 31,785 points, while the 50-stock NSE Nifty gained 5.55 points or 0.06% and is at 9,296 points.
Despite a 16% fall in profits, private lender IndusInd Bank was the top gainer on S&P BSE Sensex, up by 7.77%, followed by Axis Bank and Housing Development Finance Limited.
Sun Pharma was the lowest performing stock, down 2.20%. Among the sectoral indices on the National Stock Exchange, private banks continued to shine sharp as the Nifty Private Bank index surged 2.62%, followed by Nifty Bank and Nifty Financial Services.
