The echo of the peasant movement has been heard in Parliament for the last three days. A delegation of 15 MPs from ten opposition parties reached Ghazipur on Thursday to meet the agitating farmers. However, the police stopped them. On the other hand, Jyotiraditya Scindia, BJP MP in the upper house, favored the Modi government on agricultural laws and attacked the Congress fiercely. Janata Dal Secular MP and former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda said, “We condemn the actions of some miscreants on Republic Day, but farmers are not responsible for it.” They should not be punished. The Center’s decision to install concrete walls at the protest site will not help. The government should end the case peacefully. Agricultural law is a state subject, it is in the concurrent list. State government’s opinion also has to be taken.Jyotiraditya Scindia, a former Congress leader in the Rajya Sabha, is leading the farm laws on behalf of the BJP. He reminded the Congress of its manifesto. Targeting the party, he said that we must change the habit of changing the tongue. How long will this mess with the country last. During the address, Scindia also narrated to his old Congress colleagues. Referring to the emergency, he said that at the request of one person, the entire public voluntarily followed the lockdown. The Rajya Sabha proceedings have been adjourned till 9 am tomorrow.
