On Sunday, Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi stopped at a small village in the state’s Bathinda region to wish a newlywed couple. The 26-second video shows the chief minister hugging the man and handing his wife ‘shagun’ while on a tour of the cotton region in the Bathinda district.
Channi is also seen enjoying some sweets supplied to him by the family while being surrounded by several police officers and other persons. Channi is overheard asking when the couple is married, to which a family member responds that the wedding was on Saturday. With folded hands, the Punjab Chief Minister also conveys his best wishes to the newlyweds.
