With the commencement of the COVID immunisation process for expectant mothers in Odisha, the government has made particular facilities for their comfort. According to Bijay Panigrahi, Director of Health and Family Welfare, there would be no queues for pregnant women at any vaccinations station in the state in order to avoid extra stress.

He said that instructions had been sent to district administrations to establish the required facilities for a special reception area for pregnant women. Because of the risk of adverse effects, the Central rules stipulate that no pregnant women will be vaccinated at residence.
