It is not possible to stop glaciers in Uttarakhand. The state has all types of glaciers, big and small. Nothing can be said about when the glacier will suffer a catastrophe. However, control of their holocaust and its losses is possible. There is not much in the hands of Uttarakhand government or the companies that build the power project. If the Government of India and its team of scientists mobilize in this direction, the firepower of glaciers and the damage caused by them can be reduced to a great extent.Uttarakhand falls in the youth Himalayan range, says Samrat Sen Gupta, the program director of the Center for Science and Environment, Climate Change. Zone-5 of the seismic zone, called the very severe intensity zone, is part of Uttarakhand. Now it is not possible to stop the power project or even to uproot the powered plant. In such a situation, by increasing the safe construction work and forest area around the glaciers and rivers, it can reduce its huge losses.According to Samrat Sen Gupta, there are glaciers in Uttarakhand, besides there are large rivers. The water of glaciers reaches many states. There is no management that can prevent the disaster caused by glaciers. Many environmentalists say that large dams on rivers in Uttarakhand are responsible for such natural disasters.
As of now, no concrete policy is being worked out for the construction of power plants in Uttarakhand. The power plant is approved and construction is on, only this is happening. The impact of natural disasters can be reduced in these places. Various Ministry of Government of India should be included in this scheme. In particular, the forest department, tunnel experts and the Ministry of Water Resources will have to work on a joint policy. At present, there may be many projects whose 100% rules have not been followed in the construction work. These institutions will have to take responsibility for the investigation and final approval of these plants. Government of India will have to be involved in planning.

Samrat Sen says that making it safe for all the population around the power plant, including the working site and other local people, is most important. In order to report a natural disaster, an alarm has to be set in these areas, whose reach is heard in the forest and mountain far. The money received for planting saplings under the Compensatory Afforestation Fund and the Compensatory Afforestation Fund Management and Planning Authority should not be used for any other purpose.

It has been seen that crores of rupees under this scheme are used to buy computers. The rule is that every penny of this scheme should be used to increase the forest area. All power projects should be re-conducted with security audit. New security equipment should be installed by the team of scientists of the center along the river, tunnel and plant.
