On Monday, the police arrested a teacher who raped a student of 11th class in Navsari, Gujarat, on the pretext of marriage. According to the police, the 27-year-old teacher physically abused the girl by pretending to be married.But instead of marrying him, he was going to marry someone else. Police said that Mayur Rana is a teacher of statistics and raped the student several times.
On receiving a complaint to Valsad police, the teacher was arrested from home and a case of rape and kidnapping has been registered under IPC and POCSO provisions.
