The Ministry of External Affairs issued a statement on Thursday, saying that due to Corona, it has been decided not to invite a foreign national head or head of government as the chief guest on this year’s Republic Day.
This time on the occasion of Republic Day, the head of the nation will not be present as the chief guest. The Ministry of External Affairs issued a statement on Thursday, saying that due to Corona, it has been decided not to invite a foreign national head or head of government as the chief guest on this year’s Republic Day. Earlier this happened in 1966, when Republic Day was celebrated without the chief guest.

Please tell that the British Prime Minister Boris Johnson was the chief guest on the occasion of Republic Day this year. He later canceled his tour to India. Boris Johnson canceled the tour to India due to Corona’s new strain. Boris Johnson also regretted his decision for not coming on Republic Day. He spoke to Prime Minister Modi and regretted not coming to India. Speaking to the PM, Boris Johnson said that the speed with which the new Corona virus is spreading in Britain is important for them to stay in Britain, so that they can focus on the domestic response to the virus. This will be the fourth time when there will be no Chief Guest in the Republic Day celebrations of India. This has happened before in 1952, 1953 and 1966. At the same time, there were many occasions when two or two guests also attended the Republic Day celebrations of the country. In 1956, 1968 and 1974, two chief guests attended. At the same time, in the year 2018, 10 Asian countries attended the Republic Day celebrations as the chief guests. This was the first time that the heads of so many countries had participated in the 26 January parade.
In view of corona infection, the program of 26 January will also be celebrated along with simplicity and corona protocol. The new strain of Corona is also raising concern in India. The situation in Britain has become very serious. The daily infection figures and death toll have gone above the previous record. This is the reason why the lockdown has been imposed in Britain for the third time despite the introduction of vaccination.
