Delhi government extends the 14-day quarantine order for passengers coming from UK to Delhi till 31 January

For travelers coming to Delhi from Britain, the Delhi government extended the period of its previous order till 31 January. The Delhi government had issued an important order on 8 January regarding flights coming from UK to India. This order was issued till 14 January on a trial basis, the duration of which has now been extended till 31 January. The Delhi government has issued a new order related to it.
According to this order, RT-PCR test will be compulsory for all passengers coming from UK at Delhi Airport and the same passengers will pay for it. Passengers who are found positive will be kept in a separate Institutional Isolation facility. Those travelers who are found to be negative will be quarantined for 7 days and then home quarantined for 7 days.

According to the Standard Operating Procedure (SoP) issued by the central government, if a person coming from the UK is found negative in the RT PCR test done at the airport, then he will only be advised to stay at home for 14 days, while the Delhi government The order was issued for 7 days institutional quarantine and 7 days home quarantine.

Earlier on 7 January, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had demanded a ban on flights coming from the UK by 31 January. Delhi Health Minister Satyendra Jain had raised this demand during the meeting of the State Health Ministers with Union Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan. After getting the new variant of the corona virus, on 23 December, the government announced that there will be a ban on the movement of flights between the two countries till 31 December. It was increased to 5 January.
