At least 37 persons were killed in different landslides throughout coastal and rural Maharashtra as a result of the state’s continuous rain. On Thursday, a landslide in Taliye village, Mahad Taluka, Raigad, killed 32 people. Around 35 buildings were covered in rubble, and many individuals were still unaccounted or thought to be buried beneath it. Four people were killed in some other landslide in Poladpur, which is also susceptible to flood.
Similarly, at least 12 residents are feared to be trapped beneath rubble after a collapse in Mirgaon village, Satara district, western Maharashtra. One person has been recovered, and attempts are being made to find the remaining bodies.
