In the previous 24 hours, India has registered almost 14,300 cases, bringing the total number of active cases in the country to 1,61,555. However, the number of recoveries has been smaller than the number of new cases in the last 24 hours – 13,543. This is the second day in a row that the number of recoveries has been smaller than the number of new cases in the country.
India reported 13,198 recoveries as of Friday, compared to 14,348 new cases. If this trend continues over the following few weeks, it could signal the start of a new pandemic wave in the country.
